YW Homes, Inc.

The YWCA has a long, proud history of housing advocacy for women and people of color. In January 1999, the YWCA Greater Pittsburgh formed YW Homes, Inc., a non-profit subsidiary corporation with the purpose of creating affordable housing choices for low-income, single-parent families in those communities that currently do not provide such options. YW Homes consists of ten single-family homes that are fully occupied and located in first tier suburban communities.

Become part of the largest and oldest international women’s movement. Members of the YWCA Greater Pittsburgh support advocacy of our mission to empower women and girls and our organizational imperative to eliminate racism. Programs designed to advance our objectives are supported by membership dues using the principle of women of means supporting women without sufficient means.
