Children, Youth & Families


The YWCA Child Care Partnership's CYF Program provides immediate financial assistance for CYF clients needing child care.  To qualify for the program, clients need to:

  • Have an open Allegheny County CYF case
  • Be referred by a CYF Caseworker
  • Be employed a minimum of  20 hours per week*
  • Be earning at least minimum wage
  • Need child care for children age birth through twelve years**

*Clients in the midst of crisis or a treatment program may qualify for Respite Care and do not need to be employed.  Contact the CYF Coordinator at 412-255-1485 for more information

**Children ages 13 through 19, with physical or mental disabilities, may qualify for funding.  Contact the CYF Coordinator at 412-255-1485 for more information.




CYF CASEWORKER REFERRAL PROCESS
All CYF clients needing child care subsidy funding must be referred by a CYF Caseworker:

Contact the CCP/CYF office at 412-255-1485 as soon as you know a client needs child care funding and refer them.
Provide necessary intake information to the CCP/CYF office including:

  • Full names, social security numbers and dates of birth for each family member.
  • Mailing address and telephone number of client
  • CYF case number and sequence numbers for each family member 
  • When child care is needed
  • CYF Caseworker name and telephone number

Provide any supporting documentation to the CCP/CYF office including:

  • A copy of any court orders
  • A letter verifying custody of the child(ren) in question and authorizing permission to seek child care and subsidy funding.
