Make a gift to make a change for women
There are many ways to make a charitable gift to the YWCA during your life or as part of your estate. Your gift may offer tax benefits to you; at the same time you are helping to improve the lives of women and children in our community. Here are some ways you can contribute:
- Cash Donations
- Liz Prine Fund
- Gifts of Securities
- Planned Gifts
- Bequests
- Gifts In-Kind
- Gifts to our Endowment
Cash Donations
The YWCA accepts Annual Fund donations all year long. Donations can include:
- A general donation that supports the ongoing activities of the YWCA.
- Honorariums in honor of family members or friends for special occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and graduations.
- Memorials that pay tribute to a deceased family member or friend.
- Matching Gifts given by employers that match their employee's gift to the YWCA. Ask your employer if it offers this benefit.
Liz Prine Fund
This fund, established in 1982 in memory of Elizabeth Erskine Prine, provides grants that help women in a crisis-type situation.
Gifts of Securities
Gifts of stocks, bonds or mutual funds that have appreciated can offer special tax advantages.
Planned Gifts
Planned or deferred gifts help to insure the future of the YWCA Greater Pittsburgh. A dererred gift through an estate plan offers you the ability to support the YWCA but retain the income from those assets during your lifetime.
Bequests
A bequest is a gift made through a will or a living trust.
Gifts In-Kind
Non-cash gifts of real and personal property may be donated. Examples are furniture, computers, real estate, etc.
Gifts to our Endowment
Endowment gifts do not fund programs directly, but are instead invested to generate income for ongoing program support.
