Virtual YWalk 2020

The 2020 YWalk will be a virtual event, with plenty of opportunities for engagement in support of our neighbors who are bearing the brunt of the COVID-19 crisis.

Driven by YWCA’s Young Leaders Board, the YWalk is our version of the annual Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community, an annual fundraising walk that benefits local health and human service agencies. The primary goal of the Walk is to help participating organizations raise money for their individual missions. One hundred percent of the funds raised through this event go directly back to the participating organizations.

Here’s how it works. You can participate by signing up to walk as a team or an individual and raising funds through your networks OR by donating to your Walker or Team via YWCA Greater Pittsburgh’s YWalk page.

Even though the 2020 event is virtual, you still get to walk – but on your own terms. Any time on the final weekend of June, pick your location and distance. Perhaps you want to find the steepest hill in the ‘Burgh or the most unique street in your neighborhood – or you can just do your regular dog-walk or neighborhood stroll!

Join us as we prepare for the 2020 Virtual YWalk by visiting and sharing our Facebook event.

Following Governor Wolf’s directive, YWCA Greater Pittsburgh’s operations remain largely virtual.  As we adapt to our modified schedule, appointments are required.  Our Homewood-Brushton Early Child Development Center is open, with special precautions in place to limit the spread of COVID-19. Our Pre-K Counts classrooms in Homewood and Braddock Hills will open in the fall. Click here to view our family welcome packet for more information.
