JOB TITLE: Director of Women's Initiatives


Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

FLSA Classification/Job Grade: Exempt

Pay Scale: $54,300-$58,000

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Women’s Initiatives will identify and develop opportunities and priorities for the leadership and development of college and professional women. She/he will help shape and implement the strategic vision for the department, ensuring that programs within the department are innovative, cohesive and implemented effectively. She/he will provide leadership, oversight, management and supervision for all aspects of the department.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree with at least five (5) years of relevant experience of which three (3) are at a management level or a Master’s Degree with three (3) years of relevant experience and at least two (2) years at a supervisory or management level.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Demonstrated interest in women’s leadership, intentionally inclusive leadership and related content development. Experience with curriculum development. Experience developing, launching, managing, scaling and evaluating new programs. Ability to develop strategic plans with project plans and timelines as well as outcome measures to monitor success. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. A self-starter with a collaborative attitude.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with the Chief Operating Officer to develop, promote and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for the development of college and young professional women within the Greater Pittsburgh area that encompasses a continuum of leadership development.
• Acquire partnerships with universities, organizations, businesses and individuals for the purpose of furthering recruitment efforts, program design and marketing strategies.
• Create research-informed training materials on women in leadership and workshops for both university students and young professionals.
• Develop and implement a speaker series elevating the leadership of women and unique perspectives associated with race and gender.
• In collaboration with the Development Department, develop and execute leadership-themed digital campaigns.
• Establish program performance benchmarks to ensure program effectiveness.
• Gather, update, and maintain data for department programs and ensures the accuracy of such data.
• Develop and monitor department and grant budgets for internal and external reporting purposes.
• Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate department staff.
• Collaborate with the Development Department in fundraising efforts and in the formulation and management grants and reports.
• Display consistent professionalism and courtesy when interacting with internal and external customers.
• Promote and support the mission, imperative, values and goals of the YWCA maintaining high performance standards.
• Participate in YWCA professional development opportunities successfully implementing new skills, knowledge and procedures.
• Perform other such duties as may be assigned within the scope of the agency.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to lift, carry and otherwise move up to 15 pounds on a regular basis
• Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, reach, push, pull, or walk for various lengths of time throughout the day
• Ability to utilize computer equipment to complete daily work responsibilities
• Ability to operate fax/copy machines, telephone, calculator and general office equipment daily
• Daily work in an office environment and with frequent travel to meetings with exposure to weather conditions
• Available to work 7 hours per day and/or 35 hours per week or more as necessary to meet Association objectives.
• Ability to travel for meetings, agency trainings and other miscellaneous work assignments within or outside of Allegheny County.
