STEM Impact Initiative

YWCA’s STEM Impact Initiative is a “train the trainer” initiative that makes it possible to reach many more children with our acclaimed STEM curricula. We supply partner after-school providers with the instruction, materials, and resources that they need to deliver quality STEM programming. The curricula are interactive, and educational activities are uniquely structured to awaken children’s interest in STEM.

The STEM Impact Initiative supports elementary school students who come from high poverty, ethnic and racial minority, disabled, and female populations, all of which are significantly under-represented in the STEM educational and career fields.

In accordance with Governor Wolf’s directive to shelter-in-place through Thursday, April 30th, our Wood Street office, Homewood-Brushton location with childcare services, and Pre-K Counts classroom located at Propel Braddock Hills are currently closed. Parents will be notified once they are able to reopen.  Our staff is working remotely to continue to provide important services to our community.  Please check our website for updates and to sign up to be a friend of the YWCA Greater Pittsburgh.  For a list of local resources, please follow this link.
