Financial Assistance

YWCA Greater Pittsburgh provides both emergency and empowerment grants to individuals and families in need. Our assistance programs remove barriers and disparities that hinder families from becoming self-sufficient, helping them cover costs such as arrearages, security deposits, utilities, healthcare costs, transportation, and more.

Please email resourcecenter@ywcapgh.org or call 412-391-5100 for assistance.

  • Liz Prine Memorial Fund

The Liz Prine Memorial Fund honors the memory of Elizabeth Erskine Prine, a former YWCA Greater Pittsburgh and YWCA USA Board Member. Liz was committed to making real differences in women’s lives. Grants of up to $1,000 are awarded to assist women pursuing long-term goals by covering costs such as: education expenses, job training, professional fees, books, test fees, uniforms, laptops, trade tools, and childcare costs.

  • All Around Support

Assistance is available through the YWCA Emergency Basic Needs Fund to help women and families secure and maintain their basic needs. Additionally, we work with Neighborhood Legal Services Association to provide referrals for legal aide to address barriers to stable housing and employment. Our goal is to give partner families the support they need to achieve stability.

  • Eviction Prevention

YWCA Greater Pittsburgh Housing Stabilization Program* helps individuals and families maintain their housing and prevent eviction. YWCA can help you apply for grants that can contribute to costs such as rental arrears, utility arrears, and security deposits.

*You must live in the City of Pittsburgh to apply for Housing Stabilization Program assistance
